When something goes wrong

The things that go wrong with announcements, and what to do about each one.

Writing

What happened What to do
You see “can’t be blank” Type the Subject and the Message.
The event is not in the list Only published events show. Publish the event, or restore it if it is archived.
You see “Pick the first day of the range” Type both days for Donors who gave between.
You see “must be on or after the first day” The Last day is before the First day. Change one of them.
A link is not a link Type the full link, with https:// at the start.
You cannot find an announcement you did not send Bless has no drafts. Start a new announcement.
You cannot open Messages Only owners and admins can.

Sending

What happened What to do
You see “No one to send to yet” No one is in the audience. For an event, check that it has registrations. For donors, check the days.
You see “was already sent” You pressed Send two times, or sent it in another tab. It went out one time.
Recipients says Sending… for a long time Wait a few minutes. Bless starts it again on its own if it stops.
You found a mistake after you sent it You cannot change or recall it. Send a short correction as a new announcement.

People

What happened What to do
A person did not get the email They have no email in Contacts, or they unsubscribed. Ask them to check spam and their Messages inbox.
Emails sent is lower than Recipients Contacts with no email or who unsubscribed get the inbox copy only.
A person wants announcement emails again They turn them on in Profile and settings. You cannot do it for them.
A person replied and you got nothing Announcements come from a no-reply address. Put your phone or email in the message.
A person on the waitlist got an event announcement Everyone registered for an event includes the waitlist and pending payments.
A person who joined later did not get it Bless makes the list when you press Send. Send a new announcement.
